Description
Zodiac is all about and inspired by YOU! You are my surrogate social media family and often without realizing it you add so much light in the darkness for me. You are the stars in my sky. Zodiac is also one of my most popular a most requested designs. It features a starry sky with a traditional Zodiac wheel. Each astrology sign is paired with its matching element symbol. The term “Zodiac” loosely translates to “circle of little animals” and was used by ancient Babylonian astronomers as a sort of astrological calendar. Greek philosopher, Ptolemy, would later adapt the ancient map into what would become the Zodiac wheel we known in modern times. Ptolemy clearly explained the theoretical basis of the western zodiac as being a tropical coordinate system, by which the zodiac is aligned to the equinoxes and solstices, rather than the visible constellations that bear the same names as the zodiac signs. We use this collection of ancient horoscopes to this day!
Crystal Ball Rollerball Necklaces feature my signature spheres permanently post-mounted in the style of fine pearls! Each one is drilled by hand so that it can be fitted with the perfect cup and post. This is a popular technique used by other fine jewelers on pearl jewelry, modified to suit my crystal balls. Each crystal ball is doubly reinforced with a sturdy decorative base, creating my unique floating effect. This crystal ball in particular has also been bejeweled with matching Light Amethyst Swarovski crystals.
Princess Crystal Ball Necklaces were designed by popular request! Each sphere is the smallest size available with the most invisible setting possible. Making the Princess style smaller allows for a super strong design without fringe. Packed with just as much detail as the Queen Crystal Ball, the Princess Crystal Ball is the perfect option for those who prefer more petite necklaces.
The Crystal Ball featured on this Rollerball Necklace is Amethyst. Crystals and stones found within my collections are gem-quality specimens curated by artisanal lapidaries and family operated mines. These crystals were curated especially for my rollerball necklaces.
Amethyst is the most valuable crystal in the quartz family. Amethyst gets its purple color from iron oxide in the quartz, and it has more iron than any other type of quartz. After the stone crystalizes, radioactive gamma rays from deep inside the earth irradiate the iron, turning it purple. (These formations happened millions of years ago, Amethyst is not radioactive). Amethyst was once called the “Gem of Fire” in ancient times because it was thought to contain the fire energy from the belly of the earth, an energy that is creative, passionate, and spiritual. In a way, the ancients were correct! In the metaphysical world, Amethyst connects with the Divine. It is thought the deeper the hue, the higher the iron content, the stronger the connection. This connection is what makes Amethyst the ideal stone for creatives, often even being called the Artist’s Stone.
Rollerball Necklaces are customizable in length and coupled with a sterling silver chain. Chains feature a .925 diamond cut. Full Metal Rollerball Necklaces come with a 2ml bottle wrapped in solid silver. Necklaces arrive with a roller since oils are the most common use, but are entirely optional and can be sealed with anything of your choosing! Necklaces are further customizable by removing the roller from the bottle and many customers have opted to use their necklaces for keepsakes, specimens, or memorials. Bottles are shown with an inert carrier, but essential oils are not included. Rollerball necklaces are refillable and coupled with a refill/care kit. If you would like to purchase more bottles in other sizes or colors find glass bottles here or consider adding extra crystal energy with a gemstone roller bottle here. Full Metal pieces are interchangeable with any bottle or necklace from Bead and Bones.
