Art Nouveau | Prasiolite Gemstone Heart | Fringe Rollerball Necklace

Art Nouveau Lace was designed specifically for the Green Witch collection. Every collection features a different Lace, which is hands-down my most top selling design ever! Each Lace is inspired by the theme and typically features hidden imagery. Laces are seamless, highly detailed, and always feature a stone on the face. Laces always take a lot more love but are worth it every time… so I try to really give them killer one-of-a-kind stones. Art Nouveau Lace is inspired by shelf fungus, or bracket fungi, like Polypore Mushrooms. Polypores are a group of fungi that form large fruiting bodies with gills on the underside. Most polypores inhabit tree trunks or branches consuming the wood, but some soil-inhabiting species form interconnected systems with trees. Polypores play a very significant role in the nutrient cycling and carbon dioxide production of forest ecosystems. There are over a thousand known species of polypores but many have yet to be discovered. Polypores are much more diverse in old natural forests with abundant dead wood than in plantations or younger managed forests. Due to logging and deforestation a number of species have declined drastically and are under threat of extinction. To highlight the natural beauty of a polypore formation, I have chosen the Art Nouveau style indicative of Alphonse Mucha. Art Nouveau was most popular from 1890 – 1910. It was often inspired by natural forms such as the sinuous curves of plants and flowers. One major objective of Art Nouveau was to break down the traditional distinction between fine arts (especially painting and sculpture) and applied arts. It was most widely used in interior design, graphic arts, furniture, glass art, textiles, ceramics, metal work, and jewelry.

  • This design has been paired with a super rare natural Prasiolite from Brazil. This gemstone is the rarest and most expensive specimen in the entire collection. Natural Prasiolite is that rare. There is only one mine currently producing natural Prasiolite and it is very quickly approaching depletion— so get it while you still can! This stunning gemstone Prasiolite heart is a variety of ultra rare green quartz, not green amethyst. Only natural specimens possess the most pastel, vibrant, and gem-quality appearance. Gemstones feature a faceted and pointed back that allows in a ton of light and sparkle. Gemstones require expertise to set correctly and securely. It has been placed in a solid hybrid-style bezel which protects the stone like a traditional bezel but also uses decorative prongs to allow for greater light play, in the style of fine jewelry. The inside of the bezel has been sealed against tarnish to preserve the stunning luster of the gemstone. The result is a beautiful and durable heirloom quality rollerball necklace!

Charmed Ones feature charms and castings collected from small artisanal shops and are made with solid sterling silver. This rollerball necklace incorporates a stunning live cast Elm twig with tiny spring buds.

Fringed Rollerball Necklaces feature my signature chain fringe, inspired by the fringe jewelry of the roaring 20’s. Fringe is found in two different styles; either diamond cut chain or bar chain. Each strand is held perfectly with tension so they’re never out of place! At the end of each chain is a sterling silver raindrop charm.

The Crystal featured on this Rollerball Necklace is Emerald. This was the palest specimen with hardly any matrix, making it a fantastic pairing for Prasiolite. It is the most delicate of Spring Greens. Crystals and stones found within my collections are gem-quality specimens curated by artisanal lapidaries and family operated mines. These crystals were curated especially for my rollerball necklaces.

Emerald is a gemstone of the mineral beryl, and is colored green by traces of chromium and/or vanadium. Most emeralds are highly included, which accounts for their heavy matrix appearance. The dominant heart of the stone is opaque in shades of pale green to teal. Veins of heavy black are apparent in some specimens more than others. Pockets of druzy-like formations are interspersed throughout. The inclusions and fissures within an emerald are sometimes called jardin (French for garden) due to their their mossy appearance. Imperfections are unique for each emerald and can be used to identify a specific stone, much like a geological fingerprint. It was once famously declared, “All the green of nature is concentrated within the Emerald.” The color of this lush crystal stirs the soul like the heart of spring, symbolizing hope, renewal, and growth. In the metaphysical world, Emerald is called the Stone of Successful Love. It was dedicated in the ancient world to the goddess Venus for its ability to open and nurture the heart. Emerald is also a stone of great vision and intuition, believed to foretell future events and reveal personal truths. Emerald is a favorite among creatives because of its unique ability to align the heart with vision and intuition, giving creative works a spark of vitality and truthfulness.

The Gemstone featured on this Rollerball Necklace is ultra rare natural Prasiolite. Crystals and stones found within my collections are gem-quality specimens curated by artisanal lapidaries and family operated mines. These gemstones were curated especially for my rollerball necklaces from a GIA-Certified supplier.

Prasiolite Prasiolite is rarer and more expensive than most gemstones because there is only one mine in the whole world currently producing natural Prasiolite. This mine in Brazil is very quickly approaching depletion— so get it while you still can! This stunning gemstone Prasiolite heart is actually a variety of ultra rare green quartz, not green Amethyst. Prasiolite labeled “Green Amethyst” has been produced artificially by heating Amethyst, much like in the production of heat-treated “citrine”. Artificial varieties are either dark or unnatural in appearance, similar to heat-treated “citrine”. Only natural specimens possess the most pastel, vibrant, and gem-quality appearance. Natural Prasiolite is the perfect spring green and will practically glow with transparency. Prasiolite forms a beautiful light green color due to exposure to volcanic heat deep within the Earth. Since natural Prasiolite is a variety of quartz, Prasiolite is thought to possess similar amplifying and healing energies. In metaphysical circles, Quartz Crystal is frequently referred to as the Master Healer and the ultimate stone of amplification and transmutation. Similarly, Prasiolite is thought to transmute negative energy into positive and amplify personal energies and thoughts. Unlike quartz, which is considered a prism of pure light energy since it is clear, Prasiolite possesses its own unique characteristics. It is thought because Prasiolite only becomes green through immense exposure to volcanic heat and pressure, that this stone in particular aligns our hearts with our purpose in life. It the pinnacle stone of transformation, forged in fire deep within the belly of Mother Earth.
