LOVE WITCH 2022
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Love Spell is inspired by the elaborate bottles often used by Apothecaries of antiquity. This year features sweet Potion or bitter Poison to embody the duality of love. My Love Spell bottles have often been called Aqua Tofana– a historical reference I hold dear to my heart! (Shoutout to my Bailey Sarian fans). Back in the 1630s, a woman by the name of Guilia Tofana from Palermo, Italy began concocting and selling a notoriously strong poison to would-be widows. This was a time before divorce, when women were little more than property with no say in whom they married. Enter Guilia Tofana and a handful of other apothecaries who would offer their toxic remedies disguised as a cosmetic or devotional object, often sold in highly decorative bottles. Women purchasing the Aqua Tofana would then slip it to their abusive husbands with a near guaranteed fatality. Guila was eventually caught and executed for her crimes, however, Aqua Tofana had already claimed at least 600 victims. Several famous notorious murderesses chose Aqua Tofana as their method of choice.
Luna Moth is a brand new design for 2022. My butterfly and moth designs are some of my most requested so I thought we could use a new one to signify the hopes and dreams to come in the year. Luna Moths are referred to as moon moths and are a species of giant silk moth. They often begin their first appearances of the year in late February to early March, ideal for Valentine’s day. Luna Moths have elongated tails which are thought to interfere with the echolocation of bats and are capable of emitting clicks to further confuse predators. An adult Luna Moth lives on its fat stores created while still a caterpillar and does not feed after emerging from its chrysalis. A Luna Moth lives briefly only for romance. Symbolically, Luna Moths represent transformation, the cycle of life, intuition, the ability to recognize the light in people and situations, and the adaptability to transcend.
Moonstruck is for the moonchildren who gaze up at the moon, no matter the phase. My signature moon phase design was originally created in 2019 and has since started a whole trend of its own! Moonstruck is a realistic wrap-around moon phase with star spangled background and marked with the signature Bead and Bones hallmark. You will marvel at the details captured within the moons. It features the most prominent craters and textures that make our moon so iconic. The moon is considered to be the ultimate symbol of feminine energy. The full moon embodies the potential for creativity while the waxing and waning moons build and release our energies in a cycle of renewal. Moonstruck is a powerful talisman for inspiration and manifestation.
Love Lace features one of my most popular art concepts ever, a signature Lace. Every month I create a brand-new Lace design, each inspired by the theme. Laces are seamless, highly detailed, and always feature a stone on the face. Love Lace is one of my most elaborate lace designs ever with tiny hidden gemstone hearts, spring blossoms, and bits of Sacred Geometry. This is one of my most elaborate Lace designs to date! You will simply be blown away by the amount of perfect detail packed into such a small package.
ABOUT THE CRYSTALS
Kunzite within the Love Witch collection are exceptionally rich in shades of pastel pink and lavender. These Kunzite have been cut and polished by artisans to achieve their beautiful crystalline shape. Kunzite itself is considered rare and finding it cut into miniature points is even more rare! Kunzite is considered to be a fairly young stone, having not been discovered until 1902 by a Tiffany and Co. mineralogist, George Frederick Kunz. It is for Dr. Kunz that Kunzite is named after. While its gentle nature and feminine color scheme may seem whimsical, Kunzite is one of the strongest crystals for dispelling negativity and fortifying healing love energy. Kunzite is found in many shades – it can be colorless or it can be soft and shimmering in shades of pink and lilac or even soft lemon yellow and green. According to metaphysical beliefs, Kunzite is a stone deeply connected to the heart and love. Kunzite is thought to connect the heart with the mind, encouraging communion between the two. In metaphysical terms, Kunzite is believed to help heal heartache, calm nerves, and enhance our ability to experience and reciprocate love. While Kunzite is not a traditional gemstone, some people have adopted the pinkish stone as a birthstone alternative for February.
Rose Quartz within the Love Witch collection are exceptionally rich in color and are gemmy. The Rose Quartz featured in Love Witch were cut by artisans exclusively for my Rollerball Necklaces. With its deep pink color, Rose Quartz is a stone of the heart and considered the embodiment of unconditional love. It harnesses the soft feminine energy of peace, healing, and compassion. Rose Quartz is closely associate with the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. In Metaphysical terms, Rose Quartz is known as the romance stone, used to attract love, add loving energy to relationships, and to bring calm and peace. It is thought that the comforting and soothing energy of Rose Quartz can help heal a broken heart, allowing release of pent-up emotions and grief. Rose Quartz also helps release unexpressed feelings about others.
Amethyst within the Love Witch collection are exceptionally rich in color and gem-quality clarity. The Amethyst featured in Love Witch were cut by artisans exclusively for my Rollerball Necklaces. A stone of nobility, Amethyst is one of the most widely used stones in antiquity (along with Sapphire and Ruby). Amethyst was once the stone of Kings and Queens and the highest religious officials. Saint Valentine is often depicted wearing a ring of Amethyst. In ancient times, Amethyst was regarded as valuable as Diamond. Historically, it was believed to assist prophecy and visions and to bring riches and powers to its wearers. In Metaphysical terms, Amethyst is thought to relieve anxiety, promote peace, dispel nightmares, and enhance mood.
Charoite is an exceptionally rare silicate mineral with swirling shades of lavender and violet with a typically pearly luster. It can be found in only one location in Siberia where limestone deposits created the perfect conditions to produce a potassium feldspar metasomatite. Charoite is named for the Russian word “charry” meaning “charms” or “magic”. There is only estimated to be a few thousand tons of Charoite in existence with none to be found else in the world, making it one of the most rare minerals in current production. In metaphysical communities, Charoite is thought to be a spiritual powerhouse offering the unique ability to transmute negative energy into positive actions. Charoite is thought to inspire compassion, kindness, optimism, and confidence. Charoite is also thought to aide in establishing and honoring our personal boundaries, offering both fortification as well as protection. Charoite is the ideal embodiment of transformation and transfiguration.
Opal is a mineraloid, meaning it is neither crystal nor mineral but rather a special subclass of silicate with a high water content. Not all Opals exhibit a rainbow color play but precious gemstone does. This unique rainbow effect is made only possible by it’s unusual mineraloid structure. The more intense and varied the rainbow within an Opal is the more valuable. Some opals are commonly backed to create thicker stones called doublets or triplets, however, premium Opal gemstones are completely solid. Love Witch features only top grade solid Ethiopian Welo Opal with outstanding fire and incredible color play. In ancient times, Opal was referred to as the “Queen of Gems” exhibiting colors of the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald in one. It was highly prized and considered to bring great luck. In metaphysical communities, Opal is thought to act as an aura prism by attracting a full spectrum of Light energy. With an infusion of positive energy, Opal activates joy, optimism, enthusiasm, passion, and creativity. Opal is considered a gemstone of love, is thought to enhance cosmic consciousness and stimulate intuition, while also providing deep protection for meditation and spiritual journeys. Containing a large molecular structure of water content makes Opal an emotionally intuitive stone that will reflect the emotions of the wearer.
